In what ways is "tradition" relevant to the world today?

There seems to be a growing interest around the world in the traditional way of life: traditional medicine, traditional living, traditional architecture %26amp; arts are getting the respect they didn't have two decades ago. Recent TIME and NEWSWEEK covers on Indian medicine, etc. - and a rising interest in %26quot;ethnic dressing%26quot; are indicators of a change of attitude towards Tradition. Even attitudes towards charity are changing.



How is your culture's tradition relevant to you today? Do you see a revival in your tradition? What does your culture's tradition offer to the world?



Ideas, opinions, suggestions, critique... welcome!In what ways is %26quot;tradition%26quot; relevant to the world today?= My culture encompasses the puritan work and community service ethic. I don't think it ever went completely out of style. I know that is is highly valued by many and ignored by most who seem to be more out for themselves than being into team effort and accomplishment as a society as a whole. Wish I could see more positives but the nightly news casts seem to point in other directions.
