I%26#039;m sort of mean to people so I need help to be nicer.|||Think about everything you say and how you say it. If you say something honestly to a person and they take it offensively it may have been put a way they thought was insulting. Some people don%26#039;t realize when they%26#039;re being rude.
Cutting people off when they%26#039;re in the middle of a sentence makes them feel like you%26#039;re not listening and they listen less to you. If someone says something that sounds like, %26quot;I was in an accident and broke my leg,%26quot; and you follow up with a story that tops theirs they feel like you%26#039;re trying to be too competitive when you talk and they won%26#039;t take you seriously.
Sarcasm is rude and rubs a lot of people the wrong way, they%26#039;ll be just as rude back in most cases.|||be aware of your body posture and how you are standing and using you body....be aware of your face more ...relax your body and mind....think about how you would feel if someone is nasty to you..I%26#039;m sure no one likes that...think before you speak and be aware of hoe you use your tone when you say things...withing time and practice I%26#039;m sure will come easier and more natural to you:-)|||Think before you speak. Ask yourself, %26quot;Is what I%26#039;m about to say going to be helpful or mean?%26quot; Practice this and it will come automatically.|||Start by determining why you%26#039;re mean to people.
Do you use meanness as a weapon, a tool, or as a defense mechanism?
Have you been hurt by people in the past, and you haven%26#039;t overcome the pain?
When you understand why you are mean to other people you can begin to change and be nicer.|||Start using humour rather than sarcasm. Works a lot better. When you have made them smile you%26#039;ll get a lot further with people than most other methods.
So change from mean to funny. Does not mean you make fun of them either. But some sort of joke. I have to get signatures from people so I use the line of %26quot;I%26#039;m collecting autographs and for your autograph you get this (whatever it is) of work%26quot;. Usually they smile and I get the sig.
