Think about two aspects of your life that you have strong attitudes towards, one negative and one positive.?

When do you believe these attitudes were formed? Why? How can you work to change negative attitudes in your life?Think about two aspects of your life that you have strong attitudes towards, one negative and one positive.?I have a strong attitude against alcohol, it formed when I learned about what the alcohol industry does to get people to drink- something that is so damaging in our society. They target youth and alcoholics and especially children of alcoholics. Now if that is not sick %26amp; twisted I just dont know what is. They use the advances of our society to get customers and they go after the most vulnerable people. It makes me ill that they get away with it.

an example, %26quot;youthful drinking is associated with an increased likelihood of developing alcohol abuse or dependence later in life.%26quot; The industry knows if they hook them young they will likely have long term customers. Of course that doesn't always work out because they die of auto wrecks, suicide, homicide and other problems that alcohol is a major part of. I think if there is a death related to alcohol the industry should have to pay for it. I don't really want to change this attitude, I work hard not to harp on drinkers though because I am a recovering alcoholic so Ive been there it doesn't work to nag.

My positive belief is that I can do just about anything I want if I am willing to put time %26amp; energy into it. I have believed that since I was about 14 %26amp; won a medal showing my horse. Everyone I knew thought I couldn't do it %26amp; I worked up to four hours a day with my horse to prove them wrong (deviance is the number one characteristic of an alcoholic* lol). I still believe that if I truely want to learn something I can if I put in the effort.

you can only change a negitive attitude when you have recognized that it is indeed a negitive attitude. That is the first step. Once you have that understanding you have to think about what a more positive attitude or behavior would be and slowly begin to impliment it. You cant change something over night but you can change it. BUT%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; you can only change it if you truly want to and are willing to work at it.

Roniannrave: Young people are the ones who party and drink; Who else would you expect the Industry to target ? They are the logical demographic... No one forces them to drink. You might as well have the overweight blame the fast food industry for their problems...

You cannot legally drink until you are 21+ (for the US) and if you are not intelligent enough to make good decisions in your life, then that is your weakness. If you choose to eat the metaphorical apple, It's not the snakes fault...

If you hadn't guessed, one of my problems is with people who pass the buck and blame everything else plus the kitchen sink before they would ever look inward and accept responsibility for their own problems...

There are studies that show it is in fact good for you to drink one beer a day or one glass of wine (particularly red). Note: Studies not done by the Alcohol Industry.
