Since Joining Yahoo Answers have you gained anything {No I dont mean points lol}?

I was just curious to see if you had gained a different insight into people or changed your outlook / attitude towards them? I have realised that there is a heck of a lot more racism / prejudice around than I thought, I'm not daft I know how bad it is but not just colour / creed. I am talking about beliefs, traditions, religeons, where you're from, your sexuality. I am learning a little about myself as well including that I could do with being a bit more patient towards some people.Since Joining Yahoo Answers have you gained anything {No I dont mean points lol}?For me, I've gained a place to share my views anonymously. This is a wonderful outlet because I can't share my religious views anywhere else. I can also help people by sharing my own experiences and mistakes. Many of these things can't be shared with friends and family but I feel that my experiences can be of use here.

A numb bumb.

Actually yes, I have lived all over the world and I am very interested in other people's views! The only thing I can't stand are misogynist and racist idiots!
I've gained a free wallpaper..
I have. During my time with Y!A I have advised a 16 year old girl to tell her mother she was pregnant, and helped an American lady make cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving dinner amongst other things.

It makes you feel good, knowing you've made a difference.
This is how your question sounded %26quot;bla bla blablablabla bla bla blllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll鈥?br>

same kinda principle.
Not much except a fleeting and vain sense of emotional connection to a bunch of words. Really, it's a wayward search for emotional intimacy that leaves us bankrupt, like most forms of virtual communication. Real relationships are too hard for us because we have the fake kind so ready-at-hand.
i realised that there are a *lot* of people who take biblical fairy stories serioulsy - adam and eve, 6 literal days of creation - noah's ark - earth only 6,000 or so, years old.

You sort of expect it in the bible belt of the USA, but even in the UK there are just so many people who believe this cr@p, it blows my mind

yes ive gained personal knowledge and picked up a few good jokes along the way. i find yahoo answers very interesting
I have discovered that really, most of us worry about the same things in life! I hope I have offered good advice to some people, I have certainly benefited from other people's knowledge and experience at times. I am absolutely astounded at how many people are on %26quot;medication%26quot; for depression and anxiety. I love a good virtual debate about current news and events!

Most of all, it stopped me smoking - I have up in January, joined YA (under a different ID!) and haven't had a ciggie since - this is my new addiction!
Apart from eye stain and a bad back from this chair I'm sitting in, I have more self esteem (I get a buzz from getting a Best Answer -feels that my input matters) and I feel that my life experience, even though most of it was a nightmare, also counts for something. I am also interacting with people as I'm scared of the world out there.

Also my typing, spelling, composition and grammar have improved.
