How do cigarettes change your thinking and attitude?

I think after I started smoking I begin to think more negative thoughts and started to see things in a ugly distorted way perhaps. And I feel more tired and lower self esteem .

Why is this? How do cigarettes change your thinking and attitude?Smoking, drinking, or any other physically un-natural activity you put on your body acts like a step down latter. Take for example, you're smoking. You go outside and smoke a cigarette. You come inside. Do you crave some fruits or vegetables? Probably not. I also doubt you'll feel like exercising. After a few weeks of doing this, you'll slowly keep doing more things that are not beneficial towards your health, therefor, slowly not caring about your health. Not to mention cigarettes' chemicals, contribution to lung disease, ect. I don't really feel you deserve to be yelled at, as A LOT of people smoke these days. It's easy to be sucked in to things other people do around you.

Actually, many smokers feel tobacco use prevents them from being obese, getting into fights, and winding up in jail.

Cigarettes are known to increase concentration. They provide the smoker with a built-in system of rewards for doing unpleasant things, such as working.

There is nothing to suggest that your change in attitude is caused by smoking.

It could be that you took up smoking because you were getting stressed out and negative before that.

If anything, cigarettes actually calm me down and make me feel better (terrible, I know!) - I dont honestly see how tobacco can put you in a negative mood (unless, of course, you can't get hold of any!)
Are you smoking canabis if so then thats why. If not its all to do with osmosis the exchange of chemicals within your cells. You have to much carbonminoxide which can make you feel lousy.
I would strongly suggest u read Allen Carrs book, i have and quit smoking. But maybe u could read it jus for the information he gives on how smoking makes us feel.

I agree with you completely that it does change our thinking and attitude........we are more lethargic and negative. Purely because the poisons we are putting into our bodies are slowing us down and affecting our cells and vitamin and nutrition intake therefore we're not getting the vitamins we need to feel good.

Good point chicks x x x
it depends. me for example. working 80-90 hrs a week when i get pissed off or something. take a break smoke another and it kinda makes u think about **** so i usually get madder in the morning though they make me feel better
